Cook, Marjorie (1 DEC 1956)

Miss Marjorie Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cook, became the bride of Donald R. Izydorek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Izydorek, in a double ring ceremony performed by Father Connie Chilicki at St. Hedwig’s Chapel in the city at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning, Dec. 1st, 1956.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a nylon Chantilly lace and tulle over satin gown, floor length.  It has long tapering sleeves and an off the shoulder neckline with a yoke of illusion and a lace mandarin collar.  Fan panels of lace accented the tulle skirt in front and back.  The bride carried a cascade of white roses and a sculptured crown of pearls and iridescent sequins held the elbow length veil of imported illusion.  Her white pearl and rhinestone earrings were gifts of the groom.

Miss Jeanie Cook, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Karen Izydorek, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid.  Gail Cook, sister of the bride, and Raeleen Izydorek, sister of the groom, were junior bridesmaids.

They were attired in ballerina length dresses of red velvet.  The gowns had scoop neckline with scalloped collars and they wore white velvet skull caps and muffs, and white pearl earrings and chokers, gifts of the bride.  They carried floral sprays of red carnations.

John Scheibe, Marshfield, cousin of the groom, served as best man and Tom Weber, Stanley, groomsman.  Richard Szymanski, brother-in-law of the bride, and Eugene Brunner, godfather of the groom, were ushers.  The groom and his attendants were attired in white dinner jackets and dark trousers.

The bride’s mother wore a brown tweed dress and the groom’s mother a wedgewood blue dress.  Both wore white carnation corsages.

A breakfast for fifty persons and a reception for 100 were held in the Thorp Finance Corp. recreation room with music being furnished by Eddie Thorson on the Hammond organ.

Both bride and groom are graduates of Thorp High School.  The bride has been employed at the Thorp Finance Corp office for the past 1 ½ years.  The groom has spent the past two years in the U.S. Air Force and is at present stationed at Walker Air Force Base, Roswell, N.M., where the couple are now residing at 204 ½ S. Penn St.

Pre-nuptial showers were given by Mrs. Harvey Boie, Mrs. Dean Hubbard, Mrs. B. W. Hubbard and Mrs. Allen Hubbard.
