Burzynski, Celia (10 NOV 1956)

St. Robert Bellarmine Church of Chicago was the scene of a beautiful wedding on Saturday, Nov. 10, 1956, when Miss Celia Burzynski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski, became the bride of Joseph Dzukan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Dzukan of Allegan, Mich.  The altar was decorated with white chrysanthemums and a white carpet.  The Rev. John Dowling performed the three o’clock double ring ceremony before a large number of relatives and friends.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.  She was dressed in a gown of lace and satin with a long laced train.  Her fingertip veil was fastened to a queen’s crown of rhinestones and pearls.  She carried a bouquet of white pompons centered with white orchids and interlace with ivy.  She wore a white gold cross, a gift from the groom.

Curing the solemn part of the ceremony, the organist sang and played "Mother At Thy Feet Is Kneeling," while the bride, assisted by the maid of honor, place a bouquet of white gladiolas and white carnations at the altar of the Blessed Virgin.

The bride chose as her maid of honor, Isabelle Dzukan, sister of the groom.  She wore a blue crystalette ballerina gown with headpiece and shoe to match.  She carried a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums centered with a yellow mum.  Bridesmaids were Emily Burzynski, sister of the bride, and Caroline Buzinski, niece of the bride.  Their gowns and flowers were identical to that of the maid of honor.  They wore rhinestone necklaces and earrings to match, which were gifts from the bride.  The bride chose her niece, Kathleen Konieczny, as flower girl.  Her blue crystalette floor length gown and flowers were similar to that of the bridesmaid’s.  She wore a cross, a gift from the bride.

The groom chose as his best man, Andy Burzynski, brother of the bride.  The other attendants were Leonard Ciolkosz, a friend of the bride and groom, and Edmund Burzynski, brother of the bride.  The groom and his attendants wore midnight blue tuxedoes with white carnation boutonnieres.  They were presented with tie clasps and cufflinks, gifts of the groom.  The groom’s nephew, Ronald Dzukan, was ring bearer.  He wore a midnight blue tuxedo with a white carnation boutonniere and carried a white satin pillow.  He was presented with an identification bracelet, a gift of the groom.

The bride’s mother wore an aqua dress with a corsage of yellow roeses and the groom’s mother wore a pink dress with a corsage of red roses.

The reception was held at 6:30 p.m. at the Club Cabana.  The music was furnished by Casey Siewierski and His Gaytimes.  There were about 265 guests present.

The newlyweds left on a honeymoon trip through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and George, and will make their home in Chicago, Ill., where both are employed.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski, Emily and Edmund Burzynski, and Mrs. Louis Ciolkosz, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Liszewski and family of Stanley; Connie and bob Dzukan of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Dzukan and Mr. and Mrs. Casimir Dzukan and family of Allegany, Mich; Louis Kowalski and daughter, Helen, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kowalski and Mr. and Mrs. Alex Smoker of Tekoonsha, Mich.; and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Johnson of Milwaukee.
