Truax, Darrell Woodrow (26 December 1921 - October 2010)

 

Darrell W. Truax of Kenosha recently died at the age of 88.

 

Darrell Woodrow Truax was born in Loyal Dec. 26, 1921, to the late Earl and Bessie (Rue) Truax.  He was educated in local schools in Clark County.  Darrell married Viola Truax in 1945; she preceded him in death in 2001.  He farmed in Central Wisconsin before moving to Kenosha in 1951.  He worked at American Motors and various other jobs until working and retiring from U. S. Steel in Waukegan, IL.

 

Darrell is survived by sons, Robert (Janet) of Beach Park, IL; Harold (Janet) of Pleasant Prairie and Darrell L. Jr. of Kenosha; daughter, Colleen of Pleasant Prairie; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Viola; one son, Earl; three daughters, Barbara, Evelyn and Janette; three brothers, Leslie, Allen and Palmer; and two sisters, Etta Martin and Constance Bizjak.

 

He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, ball games, and many family campouts and get-togethers.

 

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Immanuel United Methodist Church (5410 Sheridan Rd.)  Visitation with the family was held Friday at the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.  Private burial followed at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.
