Lepke, Marie K. (13 November 1916 - 28 October 2010)

 

Marie Lepke, 93, of Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at the Deerview Meadows Assisted Living Facility in Marshfield.

 

Marie K. Reinart was born Nov. 13, 1916, in Ladysmith, the daughter of Martin and Daisy (Noll) Reinart. The family moved to a farm in Washburn Township in 1926 and Marie was educated at Shortville School.  Following her schooling, she moved to Chicago, IL, and worked for a short time.  She would later return to Neillsville, and unite in marriage to Wade James Lepke Feb. 17, 1942.  For years they owned and operated Pinky’s Tavern in Neillsville and Marie also cleaned offices in the area.  April 16, 1969, they purchased their home at 509 W. 14th Street in Neillsville.  They retired in the early 1970’s.  After Wade died Feb. 14, 1989, Marie loved to travel.  She went on a cruise and especially enjoyed going to the casino.  She also enjoyed spending two winters in California with a friend.  Due to Alzheimer’s disease, Marie moved to Deerview Meadows Assisted Living Facility in August of 2006.

 

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville.

 

She is survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade James Lepke; an infant daughter, Janet Marie Lepke; her parents, Martin and Daisy Reinart; and a stepfather, Henry Hubing. She was also preceded in death by three sisters Lillian, Susan and Irene; an nine brothers, Martin, Clarence, Peter, William, Joseph, Arnold, John, Lawrence and George.

 

The Mass of Christian Burial for Marie was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville.  The Celebrant was Fr. Woodrow H. Pace.  Music was provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary’s Choir.  Interment was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.

 

Casketbearers were: Lubo Hanuszczak, Dale Reinart, Larry Reinart, Raymond Reinart, Paul Schultz and Richard Schultz.
