Evans, Sonia Georgeane (Marriage - 29 August 1959)

The First Methodist Church in Marshfield was the setting Saturday of the wedding of Miss Sonia Georgeane Evans, daughter of Mrs. Helen Evans, Neillsville, and Virgil Harley Christianson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Christianson of Marshfield.  The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Jacobs before an altar banked with white gladioli.

The bride, who was given in marriage by John Klepek of Chicago, was attired in a floor length gown of white lace, with a very bouffant skirt highlighted by a train.  The fitted bodice was fashioned with long sleeves and a scalloped neckline. She wore a crown headpiece of sequins and pearls, and carried a cascade bouquet.

Carol Thomas of Neillsville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Jo Ann Nemitz, a friend of the bride, and Geraldine Wojtowicz, a cousin of the bride, both of Neillsville.  They wore gowns of orchid and green and carried bouquets of yellow carnations.

Jerome Christianson was his brother’s bestman, and groomsmen were Allen Schjoneman of Unity and DuWayne Kissling, of Neillsville.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother, on Rt. 2, Neillsville.

The newlyweds will reside in Marshfield.
