Garbisch, Carol Jean (Marriage - 22 August 1959)

Miss Carol Jean Garbisch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Garbisch, and Norman Wesenberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wesenberg, both of Granton, exchanged marriage vows Saturday.  The Rev. Marvin Beninga performed the double ring ceremony in Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white floor-length gown of tulle with a scalloped band of lace forming a redingote-style front.  Ruffles dramatized the back of the very full bouffant skirt. The fitted bodice was fashioned with a Sabrina neckline, trimmed with sequins.  A fingertip veil of illusion was secured to a scalloped headpiece of seed pearls and rhinestones.  She carried a bouquet of yellow and white roses.

Maid-of-honor was Miss Mary Ellen Garbisch of Granton.  Bridesmaids were Mrs. LaVern Landwehr of Stratford, Mrs. Arnold Wesenberg and Miss Freda Wesenberg, both of Granton.  They were attired in floor-length dresses of lemon-colored lace.  Nylon ruffles fashioned the lace jackets, and panels of lace alternated with tulle ruffles, highlighted the bouffant skirt.  They carried bouquets of green and white carnations.

The groom was attended by Ted Todd of Milwaukee as best man.  Groomsmen were Wayne Kurth, Granton, LaVern Landwehr, Stratford, and Arnold Wesenberg, Granton.  Ushers were Dale Wesenberg and Kenneth Krause.

Completing the wedding party were Diane Hahn as flower girl, and Robert Tykac, ring bearer.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served in the church hall and a reception was held at the home of the bride.

The new Mrs. Wesenberg is a graduate of Wood County Teachers College and teaches in the Granton school system.  Mr. Wesenberg attended River Falls State College and is employed in Marshfield.

On their return from a wedding trip to the Dakotas they will make their home on Rt. 1, Granton.
