Carey, Sarah Ferdon (16 AUG 1872 - 9 AUG 1956)

Mrs. Sarah Ferdon Carey passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 1956, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Abbie Harless at Prentice.

She was born Aug. 16, 1872, in Indiana, and would have reached her 84^th birthday next week.  She married Robert Ferdon in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) 67 years ago.  They lived in the Stanley and Eidsvold area.  He passed away July 9, 1910.

She married Jerry Carey 43 years ago and they lived in the Stanley country.  He died in 1955.

Survivors include two sons, Floyd Ferdon of Flint, Mich., and Leland Ferdon of Duluth, Minn., and eight daughters, Mrs. Abbie Harless of Prentice, Ida (Mrs. Oscar Peterson) of Stanley, Kathryn (Mrs. Jessie Tait) of California; Mrs. Jose Linger of Milwaukee and Susie (Mrs. Joe Roberts) of Duluth, Minn.; Ada (Mrs. Joe Brunner) of Woodruff; Elva (Mrs. Oliver Larson) of Cico, Calif.; and Frances (Mrs. Eli Everhart) of Minocqua; one brother, Joe Robinson, and one sister, Mrs. Martha Warner, both of Stanley.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Stanley Methodist Church with Rev. Cecil Ward officiating.  Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Stanley.
