Mrs. George Fisher died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Wis., Saturday a.m., Oct. 6, 1951, after an illness of several weeks.

Mrs. Fisher, nee Stella Ann Thomas, daughter of Don A. Thomas and the late Mary Alta (Sauvain) Thomas, was born at Crystal Plains, Kansas, Dec. 15, 1885.  She came with her parents to Clark County in 1890.  The family lived on a farm near Spokeville until 1901 when they moved to Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).  She attended the Spokeville school and the Loyal High School, from which she was graduated in 1904.  She taught rural school for three years.

Oct. 2, 1907, she was married to George Fisher, Jr.  His death occurred May 25, 1950.  With the exception of short residences near Neillsville and Marathon, most of her married life was spent in the communities of Veefkind and Spokeville.  For the past six years she had lived in the city of Loyal.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. H. L. (Norma) Laessig, Marshfield; Mrs. Ralph (Hazel) Saveland, Green Bay; and Thomas Fisher, Spokeville; three grandchildren; her father Don A. Thomas, Loyal; and a brother, Roy Thomas, Loyal.  Her mother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at the Loyal Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, with Rev. Lee Holmes officiating.  Burial was beside her husband in the Loyal Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were eight nephews, Grant, Stanley, Donald, Leo, Norman and Rudolph Fisher, and Bernard and Burdell Lucht.

The hymns, "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Sweet By and By," were sung by Mrs. Calvin Prior and Mrs. M. W. Erickson, with Mrs. Byron Zepplin as accompanist.
