Schmidtke, Bonnie J. (18 SEP 1951)

The Rev. Norbert King was officiating clergyman at a nuptial service performed at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning, Sept. 18, 1951, in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church here, when Miss Bonnie Jean Schmidtke became the bride of Harvey J. Degenhardt.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmidtke, Granton (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Degenhardt, reside here.

Attending the bride were Darlene Degenhardt, the groom’s sister, as maid of honor, and Betty Fisher, Spencer, as bridesmaid.  Each wore a formal gown and carried a bouquet of white and yellow mums tied with yellow ribbons.

Alan Seidle, Stanley, was best man, and Arthur Gregory, Loyal, groomsman.  Duane Stutte, Loyal, the groom’s cousin, and Joe Kohlnhofer, Greenwood, ushered.

For her wedding the bride selected a gown of silk net over satin.  Her fingertip veil was caught to a headdress of pearls and orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of pink and white mums tied with white and silver ribbons.

A breakfast was served at the home of the groom’s parents, while the Schmidtke home was the scene of the reception.

Both the bride and groom graduated from the Loyal High School with the class of 1951.

The couple will reside in Loyal, where the groom is employed at the Lakeshire-Marty Co.

Guests at the wedding were from Loyal, Granton, Chili, Brooklyn, Sherwood, and Greenwood.
