Stockard, Deloris Norma (6 December 1933 - 16 September 2010)

 

Deloris Norma Stockard, 76, of Eau Claire passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

 

Deloris was born Dec. 6, 1933, in Neillsville, to Albert and Norma (Winter) Marg.  She attended school in Neillsville and later became a nursing assistant for some years.

 

Deloris and George Woodrow Stockard were united in marriage in September of 1983 and enjoyed each other’s company ever since.

 

Deloris enjoyed a great variety of things.  She belonged to St. John’s Lutheran Church choir, where she enjoyed singing and playing bingo.  She also went to Algoma to catch salmon with her husband.  She also loved gardening, bird watching, baking, and of course, eating the cookies that resulted.

 

Deloris is survived by her children, Judy (Arthur) Simpson, Steve Zschernitz, Kenneth Zschernitz, Dave Zschernitz and Lori Johnson; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Shane, Amber, Matthew, Timmy, Eric and Alycia Zschernitz; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elaine Free, Betty (Jon) Jennings, Shirley (Ron) Holverson; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Stockard, and her parents.

 

Services were held at 12 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, with visitation one hour prior to services.  Pastor Roger Benrud officiated.  Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
