Meckley, Elsie Mae (19 August 1931 - 23 September 2010)

Elsie Mae Meckley, age 79, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the Miller Alternative Care Center in Thorp.

A memorial service will be held at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen, on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at 8:00 p.m.  Visitation will take place on Thursday at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Elsie was born August 19, 1931, to Edward and Mary (Peterson) Behnke in Belvidere, Illinois.  On June 4, 1950, she married George Meckley in Belvidere, IL.  They resided there until 1964, when they moved to Withee, WI.  Elsie enjoyed gardening, flowers and polka dancing.

Elsie is lovingly survived by her sons: Terry (Maelene) Meckley of Alabama and Tom (Jennifer Nolechek) Meckley of Owen, WI.  She is the proud grandma of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by many brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Meckley, and one son, Gary Meckley.
