Yaniga, Martin #2 (6 AUG 1883 - 29 AUG 1951)

 

Martin Yaniga, , 68, who served as justice of the peace at Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at his home.  He had undergone an operation at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, in May.

 

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Norbert King officiating.  Burial was made in the West Side Cemetery at Greenwood.

 

The body was in repose at the Myre Funeral Home from Friday morning to the time of services.  A rosary service was held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.

 

Mr. Yaniga was born Aug. 6, 1883, in Czechoslovakia.  His first marriage was to Marie Steffen in 1902, in Germany.  They came to the United States, setting in Pennsylvania, in 1908.  Five years later they moved to Milwaukee, and a year later came to Greenwood, operating a farm three miles southwest of the city.

 

In 1944 they moved to Loyal, where a year later, Mrs. Yaniga died.  His second married was to Mrs. Antonio Suda, April 27, 1946, in Loyal.

 

Mr. Yaniga is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Paula) Vollrath, Greenwood, six step-children, three grandchildren, and a sister in Europe.
