Otto, Mr. and Mrs. George (05 MAR 1949)

 

Saturday, Mar. 5, was the 40th anniversary of the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. George Otto of the town of Beaver. They observed the occasion by having all of their children home for dinner. Present were:

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pieper and children and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Otto of Beaver, Mr. and Mrs. Orvin Litka and daughter, Gwendolyn, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olsen and children of Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Luber and daughter, Barbara, of Loyal. Also present were the Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Langholz and daughter and Ed Wolfe of Loyal’

 

At 7 o’clock a delicious supper was served to about 40 relatives. Flowers for the occasion were bought by their children. Songs were sung by their two granddaughters, Marline and Joyce Pieper which were "Take My Hand, Dear Father" and :Whether Thou Goest." Cards were played and refreshments served. A lunch was served at midnight.

 

Attending the evening party were Mr. and Mrs. Litka and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Luber and daughter, the Paul Ottos, the Peiper family, Mr. and Mrs.Olsen and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wolfe and children, Mr. and Mrs. Art Wolfe and children, Mr. and Mrs. Miltron Wolfe and children, Mrs. George Foelsch and children of Spencer, August Luber, August Peiper, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zimmerman, Mrs. Herman Schefus and Mrs. Hal Voight. Mrs. Zimmerman and Mrs. Schefus helped serve, and Mrs. Voight pictures.

 

The honored guests received many lovely guests and cards.

 

The Ottos have four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They were married in Germany and moved to Milwaukee, where they lived for five years. In 1914 they moved to the farm which they now occupy.
