Fox, Florence (10 JUN 1878 - 8 JUL 1951)

 

Mrs. Harry Fox, 73, died at the Whitehall Hospital at 4:15 p.m. Sunday.  For the past several years she had been in poor health.

 

Mrs. Fox, nee Florence Corzett, was the daughter of the late Gene and Addie (Mack) Corzett.  Her mother was the first white child born in the town of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

Mrs. Fox was born in the town of York, June 10, 1878.  She was married at Loyal to Harry Fox, June 10, 1895.  During her life she resided in Loyal, Greenwood, Sterling, Ill., and Hixton, having lived at Hixton for the past few years.  She spent two winters recently at the home of her uncle Charlie Clouse in Loyal.

 

Funeral services were held at Hixton, Wednesday, July 11, at 1 p.m. and the body was brought here for burial in the Loyal Cemetery, Wednesday p.m.

 

A Presbyterian minister officiated at the services and friends from Hixton and vicinity served as pallbearers.

 

Her husband preceded her in death.

 

She is survived by 4 children, Asa Fox, Hixton; Freeman Fox, Neillsville; Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Getman, Hixton; and Claire Fox, green Bay; also 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Gene Corzett, Rock Falls, Ill., and Dale Corzett, Sterling, Ill., two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Mitchel, Sterling, Ill., and Mrs. Iva Jones, Waukegan, Ill.
