Luchterhand, Alvina (13 JAN 1877 - 30 JUN 1951)

 

Mrs. Frank Luchterhand, 74, died at her home in Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) at 44:45 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 1951.  Death was caused by a heart ailment.  She had been in poor health for six and a half years.

 

The body reposed at the Myre Funeral Home from Sunday morning until the time of the funeral at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran church. The Rev. Elmer Aalto officiated at the service.

 

Mrs. Romaine Rossow and Mrs. Emma Rottjer, accompanied by Mrs. Jerry Will at the organ, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Sometime, Somewhere, We’ll Understand."

 

The pallbearers were Jake Henseler Jr., Walter Pieper, Gust Voigt, Alfred Oestreich, Fred Cox Sr., and Phillip Capelle.  Burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Luchterhand, nee Alvina Wehling, was born Jan. 13, 1877, in Germany.  She came to the United States with her parents at the age of 5, settling near Spokeville.  She received her education in the rural schools in the Town of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).  Since 1920, they had been residents of Loyal.

 

Her marriage to Frank Luchterhand took place April 16, 1896, in Loyal.  She was a charter member of the Trinity Aid and also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

 

She is survived by her husband, two sons, William Luchterhand, Marshfield, and Alvin Luchterhand, Spencer, two daughters, Mrs. Reno (Elsie) Herdrich, Loyal, and Mrs. Edward (Lizzie) Greeler, Neillsville, 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Charles Wehling, Loyal, Frank Wehling, Pewaukee, and Albert Wehling, Spencer.

 

Two brothers preceded her in death.

Luchterhand and Margie, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Luchterhand, Mr. and Mrs. August Luchterhand and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Luchterhand, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Luchterhand and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Luchterhand, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Luchterhand and Donna, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wehling, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haslow, and Delmar Sternitzky, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Greeler and Ronald, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Beilke and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Luchterhand and Patsy, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nork, Redfield, S.D.; Frank Wehling and Frank Junn, Pewaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Limp, Mrs. Herbert Berg, Mrs. Herbert Fink and Mary Ann, and Mrs. Raymond Bitney, Bloomer; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Luchterhand, Unity; Ernest Luchterhand, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kuehnhold and Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Shupe, Auburndale.
