Westemeyer, Catherine (21 APR 1951)

Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa was the scene of the marriage of Miss Catherine Westemeyer and Gerald Beaver.  The Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Woppel officiated at the 8 a.m. nuptial mass.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Linus Westemeyer of Dubuque.  Mrs. Everett Cook formerly of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), is the groom’s mother.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of eggshell satin with a lace bodice, long sleeves ending in points over the wrist, satin covered buttons down the back and a train; a fingertip veil fell from an orange blossom headpiece, and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses.

Miss Mary Ellen Westemeyer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing a yellow gown.  Miss Mary Beaver, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid, wearing a pale green gown.  Both gowns were marquisette, with high neck, lace insert and satin covered buttons in front.  They wore flower headdresses and carried colonial bouquets.

Raymond Beaver, brother of the groom, was best man, and Ronald Westemeyer, the bride’s brother, was groomsman.

The bride’s mother wore a blue and gray suit, and the groom’s mother wore a blue dress.  Each had navy blue accessories, and a corsage of red tea roses.

A wedding dinner for 30 persons was served at 1 p.m. at the home of the groom’s parents, at 1004 Garfield Avenue in Dubuque.  A reception for 200 persons was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Koenigs in Dubuque.

The groom, who grew up in Loyal, attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School and Loyal High School here, moving to Dubuque three years ago.  He is employed by the Dubuque Pack Co.  His bride is employed at Sears-Roebuck there.

The newlyweds are residing at 346 ½ Main St., Dubuque.

Accompanied by his brother, Cpl. Harvey Beaver, of Travis Air Force Base, Calif., they visited relatives and friends in Loyal last week Wednesday and Thursday.
