Fitense, Emma (9 Apr. 1878 - 4 Aug. 1960)

 

Mrs. Emma Fitense, who was 82 years old, died Aug. 4, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Voelker, after an illness of a year. Mrs. Fitense, a long time resident of this area, made her home with her children after the death of Mr. Fitense Feb. 19, 1938.

 

The former Emma Marquardt was born April 9, 1878 in Sheboygan Falls. She was married to Hugo Kaestner, who died shortly after their marriage. On June 23, 1904, she was married to Fred Fitense in Sheboygan and two years later they came to Abbotsford and operated a farm.

 

She is survived by two sons, Arthur Kaestner, Milwaukee, and Walter Fitense, Abbotsford; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Eleanor) Trushinski, Vesper; Mrs. Wayne (Clara) Pope, Plover; and Mrs. Marvin (Cora) Voelker, Pittsville; and three brothers, Hugo Marquardt, Sheboygan Falls; Richard Marquardt, Sheboygan and Henry Marquardt, Spring Valley, Minn. There are 13 grand children and 13 great grand children.

 

A son, Raymond, died in infancy.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Hansen Funeral Home at Marshfield with the Rev. Harold Oelschlager of Faith Lutheran church officiating.

 

Pallbearers for the internment made in the Colby cemetery were Robert Knight, Morris Gierl, Clarence Chris, Edwin Hoffman, Harold Weber, and Robert Weideman.
