Laper, Jane (Marriage - 25 June 1960)

Miss Jane Laper, Abbotsford, and Duane Zager, Greenwood, were married in a 2:30 o’clock ceremony Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Howard Timmerman, Colby, in Christ Lutheran church, Abbotsford. "The Lord’s Prayer" and "Because" were sung by Herbert Juneau.

The bride’s grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Laper, Abbotsford, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Zager, Greenwood.

The former Miss Laper’s dress was made with a fitted bodice with a round neckline and short sleeves; the semi-cummerbund formed a bow effect in back. Lace over net and taffeta fashioned the floor length skirt. Her veil was held by a crown of sequins and pearls, and her colonial bouquet was made of red roses, white carnations and stephanotis.

Mrs. Donald L. Zager, sister-in-law of the groom, came from Rapid City, South Dakota, to be matron of honor. She wore a yellow ballerina length dress, with a net stole topping the strapless bodice of lace. Chiffon flowers trimmed the bodice and the skirt at the hipline. Her flowers were yellow and white carnations. Pearl necklace and earrings, gifts of the bride, a lace hat, and white gloves and shoes completed her ensemble.

The bridesmaid, Carole Zager, of Greenwood, wore a blue dress styled like the matron of honor’s, and carried a small colonial bouquet of blue and white carnations. Her accessories were also like those of the matron of honor.

Donald L. Zager, Rapid City, S. Dak., was best man for his brother and Kenneth Laper, Unity, was groomsman.

A reception was held after the ceremony for 75 guests from South Dakota, Wausau, Byrant, Polar, Antigo, Milwaukee, Racine, Marshfield, Medford, Loyal, Greenwood, Dorchester and Stetsonville. Supper followed at 5:30.

The groom is employed by Western Condensing Co. The young couple will make their home in Abbotsford with the bride’s grand parents.
