County Correspondence - Columbia:

The cheese factory is being put in shape with new machinery, and will open up the first of the week making fancy cream cheese, those furnishing milk will get 90¢ per hundred for June.

Mr. Sullivan and a force of men are preparing the Baptist Church in fine shape.

Earl Graves went to Janesville Sunday to visit his sister and maybe some other sister.

Mrs. F. R. Babcock drove to Neillsville Wednesday.

Mr. J. J. Twamley has resumed sawing logs and making shingles.

The boys who went wolf hunting Saturday have not shown up since they returned.  Suppose they are tired.

H. V. Wright is very sick at his home two miles west of town.

John Apfel has a boy visiting him from Evansville.

A party of land seekers were in town Tuesday.

Mr. S. Schnell and brother were in town Wednesday.

School closed Friday with a picnic which was very nice and the teacher, Miss Nellie Ruddock, has done nobly and we are proud of the way she has looked after the interests of the people.

C. S. Graves expects his family here the first of the week.  He has a nice five room tent to live in.

C. S. Graves has been cleaning, painting and papering his store building so it looks like a modern place.

Dr. Scherman has everything growing on Quality Hill.

N. J. Wiggin is helping Mr. Graves repair the Geo. Hendricks store.

Ernest Roberts the operator expects to close the office next month.

It is reported the gravel trains will stop taking gravel at the pit this week.

Mr. Harlow, the cheese-maker, is boarding at Gus Schlender’s.

E. G. Boynton was in town Wednesday.

The Woodman expect to install a lodge here a week from Saturday night followed by a dance.
