Levis and Pine Valley Areas (February - 1902)

 

George June of Black River Falls is staying with his uncle, Asa June, who is very ill.

 

Wm. Turner bought an organ of Mr. Jeudevine. 

 

Mr. McFarlain is on the sick list.

 

The attendance in District No. 4 School has been very small the past two weeks, on account of the cold weather and bad roads.

 

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Helpap died Saturday morning.

 

Miss Withers attended teacher’s institute Saturday.

 

Bessie Schultz is very sick at O. P. Johnson’s of the city, with pneumonia.  Her mother, Mrs. Geo. Schultz, is taking care of her.

 

P. H. Marsh, who has been very ill with pneumonia, is convalescent.

 

Mrs. W. H. Lowery is ill.  Dr. was summoned last week.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Withers of Monticello came up Tuesday of last week and visited his sister, Mrs. Fred Sears, returning Friday.  Rather a cool reception the thermometer gave to them.

 

The Ladies’ Aid meets the last Thursday in February with Mrs. McAdams.  Coffee and light lunch served at 3:30 p.m.  A cordial invitation is extended.

 

Albert Duge left Day early Saturday to accompany the parities visiting Geo. Brooks’ camp in Fremont; but must have visited his mother instead, as he is not mentioned as having gone.

 

The southern Levis creamery is having ice packed.
