John Booth Wildish was born on Oct. 28, 1942, in Eau Claire, the son of Everett W. and Myrtella Belle (Booth) Wildish. He was born enroute to Eau Claire, since the hospital in Neillsville had been closed due to the war. He was raised and received his education in Neillsville, then he enlisted in the U,S. Air Force. His father passed away when John was 5 years old, and after his mother’s death in 1962, he lived with the Wendt and Kluckhohn families in Neillsville. He married Diane Hribar on Nov. 30, 1963, at the United Methodist Church, Neillsville. He worked for Justin Kopf in Marshfield, as a plasterer, and at Northern Auto in Neillsville, as a salesman. They moved to Greenwood in 1967, where he worked at Greenville Homes until its closing, then with his brother-in-law, Bob Marty, at Bob’s Masonry. He then worked at Landini Reality until retiring in 1990. After his retirement, he enjoyed raising Angus and Hereford beef, and built a cabin on Lake Arbutus. He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Post #238. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his wife, Diane; being with his children and grandchildren; fishing; hunting, especially coon and bear when he was younger; trapping and snowmobiling. He loved to keep up on current events and was an avid reader of local and American history.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Diane, Greenwood; his son: James (Kristilyn) Wildish, Wisconsin Rapids; his daughter: Cindy (Shane) Rasmussen, Greenwood; five grandchildren, Lane, Logan and Leah Wildish, and Rio and Mesa Belle Rasmussen; one sister: Marilyn (Bob) Marty, Neillsville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his mother and father-in-law;and one daughter, Tina Marie, in infancy.
