Nelson, Ellen Mae (11 OCT 1950)

Miss Ellen Mae Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Nelson of Marshfield, and Robert Lindner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindner of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged wedding vows during a nuptial mass at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1950, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield, with the Very Rev. Hugh J. Deeny officiating.

Rows of pleated net trimmed ruffles formed the long flowing train of the Chantilly lace gown worn by the bride.  The front of the slim bodice, topped by a Peter Pan collar, was outlined with a row of tiny self-covered buttons.  Her bonnet of shirred Chantilly lace and lilies of the valley secured the fingertip veil of silk illusion.  Three white chrysanthemums formed the center of her colonial bouquet of varicolored mums.

Miss Delores Olsen, as maid of honor, wore a costume of yellow taffeta, styled with cap sleeves and a low scalloped neckline, and a skirt gathered at the hipline.  Her headpiece and gauntlets matched her dress, and she carried a nosegay of mixed colored mums.

The three bridesmaids, Miss Nancy Nelson, her sister, and Misses Joan and Theresa Lindner, twin sisters of the groom, were dressed alike in gowns of lavender, rose and green, respectively, styled like the gown of the maid of honor.  Each carried vari-colored mums.

Carl Lindner, cousin of the groom, was best man.  Other members of the wedding party were Donald Bushman, another cousin, and Tom Lindner and Andrew Lindner Jr., brothers of the groom, as ushers.

A breakfast was served after the ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stewart in Marshfield.  A dinner and supper were served at the home of the groom’s parents, where a reception was also held.

The bride, a graduate of the Senior high school in Marshfield, was employed at the Marshfield Clinic, and the groom, a graduate of the Greenwood High School, is engaged in farming on route two, where the couple will reside.

Out of town guests at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stiefvater and Miss Margaret Gries of Manitowoc, Vivian Stiefvater of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. George Knier of Newton, Mrs. Arno Hickman and Misses Valeria Mueller and Bernice Reister of Kiel, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stabnow of Grand Marais, Mich., Mrs. James Syth of Jim Falls, Mrs. Walter Stabnow of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Lindner and daughters of Hales Corners.

To the newlyweds, the Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
