Steffen, Alaire (17 JUN 1950)

Miss Alaire Steffen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Steffen, and Jim Hallowell, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jun, 17, 1950, in the parsonage of Christ Lutheran Church at Marshfield, with the Rev. T. P. Bradtke officiating.

For her wedding, the bride chose a gown of white marquisette over satin, featuring long sleeves coming to points over the wrists, a high neckline with a lace ruffle around the skirt caught up with rosettes.  Her fingertip veil, edged with white lace, fell from a headdress of seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of red roses, regal lilies and swansonia.

The couple’s only attendants were Miss Iris Steffen, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and John Hallowell of Pewaukee, brother of the groom, as best man.  Miss Steffen wore a white figured organdy over lavender satin dress and carried a bouquet of yellow and orchid roses.

Mothers of the bride and groom wore navy blue dresses, with white accessories.  Each had a corsage of pink roses and white carnations.

A 4 o’clock dinner was served at the Hotel Charles in Marshfield for the immediate relatives, and later in the evening a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

Out of town relatives at the wedding were Mrs. Donald Roemer of Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. German Griesbach of Rochester, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boettcher of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Steffen Jr. of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steffen of Neillsville.

The bride, a member of the Loyal High School class of 1946, is a graduate of a two-year college course and for the past two years has been the Oak Grove school teacher.  The groom graduated from the Loyal High School in 1940.

The couple will reside on a farm in the town of Beaver, where the groom is employed, when they return from a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin.

The Loyal Tribune join the many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
