Langholz, Frances A. (7 JUN 1950)

Miss Frances Ann Langholz, the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. John C. Langholz of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Victor W. Schulz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schulz of Boyden, Ia., in a double ring candlelight service at Trinity Lutheran Church here on Wednesday evening, June 7, 1950.

Officiating at the service were the bride’s father, her grandfather, the Rev. Fred A. Meske of Marshfield, and an uncle of the groom, the Rev. August Baetke of Waverly, Ia., who is a professor at Wartburg College in that city.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Parisian design in white courturies satin, with a wide petal neckline, high standing to give a portrait effect.  The full, many-gored skirt flared into a luxurious cathedral train, and her veil of imported silk illusion drifted from a coronet with side clusters of pearl orange blossoms.  She carried sprays of white orchids and stephanotis on a white Bible.

Miss Lois Landdeck of Russell, Kan., was her maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Miss Eunice Langholz, a sister of the bride, and Mrs. James Behrens of Shawano.

Their gowns, styled alike, were of Chartreuse taffeta, and their headdresses were off-the-face bonnets which matched their gowns, with matching mitts.  They carried fan shaped bouquet of lavender carnations.

Robert Benk of Worth, Ill., was the best man.  Ernest Wilcke of Timber Lake, S.D., and the Rev. James Behrens of Shawano were groomsmen.

Mothers of the couple wore light blue, with white accessories, and wore corsages of roses tied with a white ribbon.

At 4:30 a dinner was served to immediate relatives and friends in the church parlors.  Immediate after the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors for friends and members of the congregation.

Out of town guests attending the ceremony included: Mrs. Cecil Cavanaugh of Newell, Ia.; the Rev. Norman Langholz of Corith, Ia.; Miss Lois Landdeck of Russell, Kan.; Mrs. Emma Langholz, Roland Langholz and the Rev. and Mrs. August Baetke of Waverly, Ia.; Norman Fintel of Wis. Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Volkman of Eau Claire; Miss Edna Steinert of LeMars, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kaul and Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Kaul of Good Thunder, Minn.; the Rev. and Mrs. Fred Meske Sr. and the Rev. and Mrs. Edgar Milleville of Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schmoll and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schloman of Ladysmith; the Rev. and Mrs. A. G. Langholz and daughters, Carolyn and Charlene, of Sumner, Ia.; Robert Reinke and Harold Schmidt of Melvin, Ia.; The Rev. and Mrs. Kenneth Kohl of Dubuque, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Rake of Sibley, Ia.; the Rev. and Mrs. James Behrens of Shawano; Ernest Wilcke of Timber Lake, S.D.; the Rev. and Mrs. Fred Meske Jr. of Duluth, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schulz of Boyden, Ia., and Vern Dahlby of Osseo.

Both young people are graduates of Wartburg College in Waverly.  The groom is a district agent with the Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Co., and the bride has been a teacher of home economics in Newell, Ia.  She graduated from the Loyal High School with the class of 1942.

When the newlyweds return from a honeymoon through the western states, they will reside after July 1 at 1110 Tenth St., Sheldon, Ia.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
