On July 4, 1942 at Camp Livingston, Louisiana Leonard was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Toelle.

In 1945, following his military service Mr. Colby began an electroplating business in LaCrosse.
The couple returned to Abbotsford and in 1952 purchased the Casa Grande Supper Club which they operated for 32 years until retiring in 1984. Leonard will be remembered as a kind and compassionate person who was genuinely concerned for others. He was a great bartender who had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories and jokes.

Beside his faith and his family he was an avid sports fan, following the Braves, Packers, Brewers and Bucks.
