Barr, Mabel (4 NOV 1910 - 23 MAR 1967)

 

Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 20, at Georgas Funeral Home, Neillsville, for Mrs. Charles Barr, 56, of 206 W. 12th St., who died Thursday at the Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.  The Rev. W. C. Koehler, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiated, and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

The former Mabel Shupe was born Nov. 4, 1910, at Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and received her education there, graduating from the Loyal High School.  She worked as a clerk in H.R. Baird Store at Granton for several years.  Her marriage to Charles Barr took place Aug. 4, 1934, at Greenwood.

 

After their marriage,t he couple made their home in Neillsville.

 

Mrs. Barr had served on the election board in the city of Neillsville for a number of years, and was a member of the Easter Star Chapter of Loyal.

 

Survivors include her husband: two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Stigen, Minneapolis; and Mrs. Marvin (Carol) Pischer, Black River Falls; a son, Thomas, Minneapolis; five sisters, Mrs. Jess (Vivian) Raab, Loyal; Mr. Jack (Helen) Fahey, Stanley; Mrs. H.R. (Ione) Baird, greenwood; Mrs. Lawrence (Nettie) Davel, Loyal; and Mrs. Willard (Elsie) Ziemendorf, Wis. Rapids; two brothers, Glen Shupe, Spencer; and Jack Shupe, Berlin, and six grandchildren.
