Rural Mail Boxes (January - 1902)

The C. A. Peck Hardware Co. of Berlin, Wis., are manufacturing and having a large sale on an especially nice Rural Free Delivery Mail Box which has been approved and is recommended by the Post Office Department.  It is a cylindrical in shape, neatly striped in red and has a drop letter slot and an inside penny box.  The main features of this box are its trim and handsome appearance, convenience and complete storm proof qualities.  It is acknowledged by those who have seen it to be the neatest box yet invented.  A feature which has been lately added is a hook attached to the outside frame work for holding parcels which will not go in the box.  This box is sent, prepaid, to any address for $2, with privilege of return and money refunded if not entirely satisfactory.  Padlock 35 cents extra. The first party on each route to order one of these boxes gets a padlock free.
