Lavene, Alice E. (7 November 1925 - 11 June 2010)

 

Alice E. Lavene, 84, of Neillsville died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Alice was born Nov. 7, 1925, in the Town of Beaver, Clark County, to Joseph and Agnes (Roadt) Pachal.  She graduated from Loyal High School in 1943.  Alice was married to Alvin Lavene Jan. 6, 1946, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Marshfield.  She farmed with her husband on Seldom Rest Farm and was a homemaker.  She had resided at Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center since Dec. 18, 2009.

 

Alice’s faith was important to her. She was baptized July 25, 1926, at Owen and confirmed Sept. 17, 1939, at Riplinger. Alice was a member since 1946 of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Christie and its Ladies Aid, Good Neighbors Homemakers Club since 1957 and a member of the National Farmers Organization since 1962.

 

She is survived by her children, Gary Lavene of Neillsville, Rick Lavene (Susan Butterfield) of Neillsville and Bonnie (Roger) Bender of Loyal; grandchildren, Lee Bender, Lori Zais, Lynnette Johnson, Lychelle Tellock, Brody Lavene and Breanna Lavene; great-grandchildren, Heather and Brady Zais, Taylor and Devin Johnson and Natasha and Sheila Tellock; two step-great-grandchildren, Jason Johnson and Brittany Zoellick; three step-grandchildren, Jessica Herick and Jonathon and Jennifer Butterfield; three step-great-grandchildren, Meikendra, Scotlynn and Allison; one sister, Adela Goutcher and two brothers, Frank and Louie Pachal.

 

Funeral services were held at noon, Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Christie, with Rev. John Warmuth officiating.  Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, and from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church.  Burial took place at Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Roger and Milton Pachal, Marlene English, Rosalee Hall, Lee Bender and Danyl Herman.

 

The Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
