Carl Eaker died last Saturday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Wegner, in town Pine Valley.  His death was due to old age.  He was born in Germany in 1823 and came to this country with his wife in 1868, locating in Jefferson county.  He lived there several years and then came to Clark county, locating on a farm in town Pine Valley.  He lived there with his family until 15 years ago, when his wife died, and he has since made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Wegner.  He was the father of six children, three of whom survive him, Mrs. Peter Zindell of Wausau, Mrs. Lena Zimmerman of Humbird and Mrs. Fred Wegner.

Deceased was a gentleman of many splendid characteristics and was capable and industrious throughout his life.  He lived to a good old age respected and honored by all who knew him.  The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Pine Valley Lutheran church, Rev. Reif officiating and interment made in the Pine Valley cemetery.
