Siikarla, Ida M. (8 JUN 1886 - 2 APR 1957)

 

Mrs. John Siikarla passed away in the Marshfield Hospital of a heart attack and other complications on April 2, 1957, at 6 a.m.  She had been a patient at the hospital for the past three weeks.

 

Ida Marie Siikarla was born in Finland on June 8, 1886.  She came to this country in 1906.  She was united in marriage to John Siikarla in 1912 in a ceremony performed at Red Granite, Wis.  They moved to Minnesota, living there until 1914, when they came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), settling on a farm in the Town of Hoard.  Here they successfully farmed until 1945 when they retired and moved into the city.

 

She is survived by her husband John; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Alli) Bradley of California, Mrs. George (Aini) Frahman of Unity and two sons, Arthur of Owen and Armas of Russia.

 

Services will be held at one o’clock Friday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home with Rev. John Saarinen officiating.  Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Solomon Laakso, Sander Warjonen, John Rosenquist, Ted Lindstrom, Herbert Missling and Arthur Laine.  Floral offerings will be in charge of Mrs. Eric Telin, Mrs. Anna Holpanen and Mrs. Verna Rosenquist.
