Farmers have done some plowing.

 

The Foster Lumber Co. lands for sale by C.H. Clute.

 

Mrs. Geo. Thompson is recovering slowly from a long illness.

 

Philo Mead came home Saturday for a visit with his parents and friends.

 

The John S. Owen lands in town 27 - 2 and 27 - 1 west, for sale by C.H. Clute.

 

A.P. Raymond went to Tioga Wednesday to place a water tank he sold there.

 

Clarence Green has accepted a position in the hardware store of C.C. Hoehne.

 

Albert Hoffman is helping J.W. Falk in the creamery and learning how to make butter.

 

Mrs. W.T. Hendren returned Monday night from her visit of several days at Stevens Point.

 

Mrs. North James is receiving a visit from her friend, Mrs. James L. Wood of Whitehall.

 

Allie Schofield left Saturday morning for Chicago for an extended visit with her sister and friends.

 

Mrs. C.P. Hill and little daughter came down from St. Paul yesterday morning for a visit at the old home.

 

The Thursday Club will meet with Mrs. H. Franckenberg April 16 at 2 p.m.  All are requested to be present.

 

Saturday, Mar. 28, a young lady arrived at the home of J.W. Stanton, Sr. Lottie Genevieve Stanton is her name.

 

Rev. Archibald Kerr of Neillsville came in one Monday evening’s Central train and spent the night here with friends.

 

Carl and Wallace Wilke came up from Sheboygan to attend the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Warncke. They are also visiting relatives.

 

B.O. Dodge, principal of the Algoma schools, spent last week among his numerous Greenwood friends, who are always glad to see him.

 

E.T. Hale returned from Elroy Monday morning where he spent a few days since Thursday with his wife and child, while attending to business interests in connection with a newspaper business which he recently sold.

 

Lawyer Benjamin G. Packer is receiving a visit from his father and mother who live in Eau Claire. His father, Rev. M.A. Packer, has been a Greenwood visitor before on one or two occasions, where he has many friends.

 

W.H. Reese and family moved up Friday with their household goods and personal property and have moved into the property recently vacated by M.H. Wright. Mr. Reese comes from Dodgeville and now owns 400 acres of good Clark county soil.

 

Mabel Rossman entertained her friends, the Misses Teda M. Uhlman of River Falls and Ellen Jeffers of Sheridan, they arriving Friday. The latter left Sunday for Withee where she will also visit friends. Miss Uhlman returned home Tuesday.

 

Julius Walters and a crew of drivers have been working on the river the past week getting in the logs on the sides. It is the plan on the part of the association to make a clean drive this year and clean up all the logs which have been accumulating along the banks.

 

Hixon Mead and family have moved to Marshfield where he has a position with the electric light works and also plays in the Second Regiment band, which is now one of the crack musical organizations of the state. His many Gleaner friends will be pleased to learn of his success.

 

Dan Fahey and wife, who about a year ago moved to Beaverton, Oregon, have moved to Cape Horn Wash. In a letter to the Gleaner Dan states that he is working in a camp where wages are from $3 to $4 per day. He says the weather is lovely and most of the farmers have their seeding done and potatoes planted.
