Quist, Christina (19 AUG 1875 - 22 FEB 1957)

 

Funeral services were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home here Monday for Mrs. Charles Quist, 81, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage Friday at her home.  The Rev. H. D. Wagner officiated.

 

Interment has taken place at Lake View Cemetery at Turtle Lake.

 

The former Christina Johnson was born in Hammenhag, Sweden, Aug. 19, 1875.  She came to this country at the age of 15 and made her home in St. Paul, Minn.  On June 23, 1892, she was married to Mr. Quist at Red Wing, Minn.

 

They made their home in St. Paul until 1895 and then moved to Almena, where they farmed until 1920.  In that year, they bought a farm at Colby, residing there until 1944, when they retired and moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

Survivors are the husband; one son, Earl Quist, Duluth, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. George (Gertrude) Kowalk, and Mrs. Otto (Mabel) Kowalk, and Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Baumgart; four sisters, Mrs. N. T. Nelson, Stillwater, Minn., Mrs. C. Taube and Mrs. G. Frinstad, both of St. Paul, and Mrs. A. Peabody, Green Bay; and two grandchildren, Duane Baumgart, Stevens Point and Betty Kowalk, Eau Claire.  Six children preceded her in death.
