Krepsky, Dorothy #3 (1913 - 22 DEC 1956)

Number among the 701 highway deaths recorded throughout the nation during the recent holiday weekend were two Clark County Women - Mr. F. George Krepsky, 43, Colby, and her sister-in-law, Miss Margaret C. Krepsky, 49, also a native of Colby.  In Wisconsin 23 persons lost their lived in highway accidents during this period.

The two women were killed at 9:26 Saturday morning when their car skidded into the path of another auto on the wet fog covered pavement of Highway 41 north of Fond du Lac.

Louis E. Marks, 68 Oshkosh, driver of the other car, died of injuries shortly after he was admitted to a Fond du Lac hospital.

Witnesses said that Miss Krepsky, enroute to Colby for Christmas, passed a semi-trailer truck.  After the car had regained the right hand lane, it skidded across the center line and was struck broadside by the Marks car.

It was the worst traffic crash in Fond du Lac County this year and raised the county toll to 16.
