Kops, LeRoy L. (January 8, 1935 - March 18, 2010) 
 

LeRoy L. Kops, 75, of Colby died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at his residence in Colby. 
 

LeRoy was born January 8, 1935, to Lester and Lillian Kops in the town of Granton.   
 

He attended Unity grade school and Zion Lutheran School in Colby and graduated from Colby High School. 
 

After graduation LeRoy moved to Milwaukee where he worked in the dairy industry at Gales and Borden’s Dairy.  
 

He married Shirley Young in 1952.   
 

In 1960 they moved back to Unity to take over the family farm in 1960.   
 

In 1971 he moved to Colby and he worked in Spencer at Land O’Lakes for 34 years. He was long time Teamster member and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby.   
 

LeRoy is survived by his wife; children Ken (Judi) Kops of Bedford, NH, Steve Kops of Salt Lake City, UT, Jim Kops of Colby and Sandi (Steve) Rodriquez of Green Bay; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchild; a brother, Richard (Rose) Kops of Colby and a sister in law.   
 

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gerald Kops. 

 
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, March 22, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. The Rev. Dan Hackel presided. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
