Meyer, Emma (9 FEB 1873 - 8 APR 1956)

 

One of Withee’s (Clark Co., Wis.) pioneer residents, Mrs. Lewis Meyer, 83, was place in her final resting place alongside of her husband in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery during services held Thursday afternoon, April 12, Death was attributed to complications of old age.  She passed away Sunday, April 8, 1956 while being cared for at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Menroy Steffen at Plymouth, Wis.

 

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock from Griebenow’s Funeral Home with Rev. H. D. Wagner officiating.  Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Steffen, Robert and Donald Meyer, Jerome and Ronnie Kenney and Les Jens.  Honorary pallbearers were Edgar Alberts, John Jalling, John Zasoba, Emil A. Hansen and Richard Giese.

 

Emma Lade Meyer was born Feb. 9, 1873 at Campbellsport, Wis.  In 1908 she was united in marriage to her late husband, Lewis Meyer, in a ceremony performed at Fond du Lac.  Shortly thereafter the couple moved to Withee where she enjoyed a happy and full life of companionship with her family and a wide circle of friends.

 

Mourning her passing are four sons, Harvey Weddig, Owen; Henry Weddig, Colby; Lester Meyers, Appleton; and Lawrence Meyers, Hawthorne, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Kenny, Cedarburg, Wis., and Mrs. Menroy (Irene) Steffen, Plymouth; and 15 grandchildren.
