Barts, Mabel (Schilling) (August 22, 1923 - March 12, 2010) 
 

Mabel Barts, 86, Abbotsford, died Friday March 12, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.   
Mabel was born August 22, 1923 in Colby to Augusta (Sellung) and Joseph Schilling.  
 

Mabel Schilling married Harvey Barts, Jr, April 15, 1944. They farmed in the town of Colby before moving to Abbotsford in 1967. Mabel also worked at Land O Lakes in Spencer and retired after 20 years. Mabel enjoyed traveling throughout the country and overseas with Harvey. Camping, playing cards and polka dancing were also important things in her life. For many years Mabel and Harvey spent their winters in Texas.

 
Harvey preceded Mabel in death in 2006.  
 

Mabel is survived by her daughter Audrey Boutain of Abbotsford, son Dave (Peggy) Barts of Edgewater Colo.; granddaughter Sharon (Alan) Bliss of LaCrosse; grandson Robert Strobach of Stratford, grandson Jeffrey Strobach of Weston and grandson Michael Strobach of Abbotsford. There are 11 great grandchildren. Mabel is survived by brothers Erv Schilling of Abbotsford, Herbert (Jean) Schilling of Colby; and sister Margaret (Harland) Witt of Colby.  Mabel was preceded in death by her brothers Paul, Clarence, Thomas; and her sisters Arlene, Adeline Raasch, and Irene Burdett.

 
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday March 16, 2010 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home, Abbotsford. Visitation will be from 4 until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Colby with Father S. Nathan presiding.
