Funeral services were held Monday, from
the Gilbertson Funeral Home for Mrs. Susie Mesar, 86, Rt. 2,
Granton, who died December 11 at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Elsie Roach, in Chicago. Death was attributed to old
age complications. The Rev. Marvin A. Beninga, pastor of the
Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was made in Windfall
Cemetery.
Mrs. Mesar, the former Susie Sibok, was
born August 5, 1872, in Hungary. She was married to Joseph
Mesar, and had been a resident of Granton, Rt. 2, for 40
years. The last 15 months she spent with her daughter in
Chicago.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs.
Roach, and Mrs. Wilbur (Margaret) Goebel, Granton; and a brother,
Joseph, of the home farm on Rt. 2, Granton. Eight
grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Pallbearers were: Walter Schlinsog, Frank Johnson, Henry Schuelke, Ed Lautenbach, Oscar and Louis Krause.
