Collier, Grace (17 MAY 1874 - 28 AUG 1955)

 

A lingering illness of tuberculosis proved fatal to Mrs. Grace Collier who passed away at Mount Washington Sanatorium, Eau Claire, on the 28th of August, 1955.  She was 81 years, 3 months and 11 days of age.

 

Funeral services were held at two o�clock Tuesday afternoon from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home with Rev. H. D. Wagner officiating.  Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery with Messrs. Harvey Weddig, Leonard Hamm, Julius Johnson, Roy Anderson, Orville Fillipp, and Tony Ciokiewicz serving as pallbearers.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mesdames Orville Fillipp, Harry Robinson and R. Meklew.

 

Grace Tuttle Collier was born May 17, 1874, at Waupaca, the daughter of Louis Stevens and Decatur Tuttle.  She grew up in the town of Holway where her parents had moved when she was a small girl.  She was united in marriage with John Collier on May 17, 1899, at Plover, Wis.

 

They lived at Ingram, Wis., until 1921 when they moved to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where she resided until her illness.  Her husband preceded her in death, having passed away on Sept. 9, 1940.  She passed away on the 28th of this month at the Sanatorium where she had been a patient since May 5, 1954.

 

She leaves to mourn, her daughters, Mrs. William (Viola) Vetterkind, Withee, and Mrs. Ralph (Ruth) Palmer of Bloomer, and two sons, Milton of Greenwood, and Elton of Milwaukee; also 11 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
