Kalmon, Elaine L. (10 AUG 1955)

Miss Elaine L. Kalmon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Kalmon, Medford, became the bride of George R. Southworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claire Southworth, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), prior to a Nuptial High Mass, Wednesday morning, Aug. 10, 1955.  The vows were repeated at 8 o’clock before the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Gregory Reuter in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford.

Embroidered nylon net over satin fashioned the gown worn by the bride for her wedding.  The snug fitting bodice, which featured a sweetheart neckline, had long sleeves which tapered to points over the wrists.  A crown of sequins and pearls held her fingertip veil of nylon net.  The bouquet of red roses and rose buds she carried was tied with white satin ribbons.

A cousin of the bride, Miss Donna Ten, Delavan, served as the maid of honor.  She wore a yellow strapless formal with a matching cape, with a sweetheart bonnet and a bouquet of yellow carnations completing her outfit.  The other bridal aids, Miss Jane Kalmon, Miss Joan Egle and Miss Charlotte Southworth, wore orchid colored gowns styled like the maid of honor’s.  They also carried bouquets of orchid tinted carnations.

Donald Southworth, Owen, attended his brother as best man.  Dennis and David Kalmon, brothers of the bride, served as ushers.

A noon dinner was served to the immediate family at the home of the bride, and in the afternoon the newlyweds greeted relatives and friends at a reception in the Holy Rosary auditorium.

The bride, a graduate of Medford High School and Taylor County Normal School, is a teacher in a Lublin Public School.  Her husband, a graduate of the Owen High School, is employed in the trucking business in Owen.

A honeymoon trip to northern Wisconsin was selected by the young people.  Upon their return they will make their home in Withee.

Guests for the wedding came from Milwaukee, Delavan, Wausau, as well as the Medford area.
