Garbusch, Clara, (31 OCT 1880-04 AUG 1947)

 

Mrs. Clara O. Garbush, 66, passed away at her home here at 12:45 p.m., Monday, Aug. 4, after a lingering illness of many years. She had been a resident of Loyal for the last 32 years.

 

Clara Retzlaff was born in the town of Lynn on Oct. 31, 1880. She was the daughter of Henry and Rosiana Retzlaff, both of whom are deceased. Her early years was spent in Lynn. Later she was employed in Beloit for some time.

 

On June 16, 1915, she was married at Neillsville to Albert Garbush. They lived foe a few years on a farm between Loyal and Greenwood, later moving southeast of Loyal, where she has since resided. As a lover of flowers, she was well known for her many varieties.

 

Mrs. Garbush is survived by her husband, Albert, of Milwaukee, and two children, Harlow, who is serving with the army air force and is stationed at Chandler, Ariz., and Florence, a teacher, who resides at home. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Carl (Emma) Zats, of Kenosha and a half sister, Tillie Retzlaff, of Granton.

 

The Rev. Lee Holmes conducted the funeral services at the Loyal Methodist church, of which Mrs. Garbush was a member, at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 Mrs. Ray Prior and Mrs. Calvin Prior sang hymns she had chosen: "Some Day They’ll Understand," "The Old Rugged Cross" and Good Night and Good Morning."

 

The pallbearers were Elmer Anderson, Ed and John Barth, Edwin Jahr, Arthur Kleinschmidt and Knute Christianson.

Garbush of Chandler, Ariz.; Mrs. Carl Zais and children of Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. John Franke of Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Anderson of Stanley. Mrs. Ella M. Smith, Mr. and Mrs.Edwin Barth and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Peterson, all of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gardner and daughter, of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Jahr, Mrs. Mary Kleinschmidt, Mrs. Leslie Todd, Edward Barth, Ed and Leo Kleinschmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Art Herman Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. John Barth and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Knute Christianson, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Garbush, Misses Mamie and Dorothy Gardner, Mrs. Annie K’Smith and Carl Renne, all of Granton; Albert Garbush of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Linton Jahr, Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Peterson and daughter, Carol, and Mrs. Bernard Dodte, all of Neillsville.

 

The tribune extends its sympathy in their loss.
