Dobbe, Marlene (Marriage - 4 October 1958)

Trinity Lutheran Church at Loyal was the scene of the wedding Saturday afternoon of Marlene Dobbe and Walter A. Mews.  Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dobbe, Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Mews, Junction City.

For her wedding the bride selected a gown of nylon tulle over lace taffeta, chapel train, Chantilly-type lace yoke and lace motifs on a bouffant skirt.  Her veil, of sheer imported illusion net, was fingertip length.  She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Miss Shirley Dobbe, Marshfield, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.  The bridesmaids were Mrs. Dona Schmidt, Marshfield, the groom’s sister, and Miss Carol Neubauer, Watertown, the bride’s niece.  The attendants were in blue silk organza dresses with scoop neckline shirred three-fourth length sleeves, Harem style skirts and matching headpieces.  They carried bouquets of yellow and gold pompons in baskets.

Lloyd Mews, Junction City, bestman and groomsmen were Jerry Mews, a brother, and Ray Link, a friend, from Marshfield.  Ronald Mews, a brother, and Norman Schmidt, the bride’s cousin of Loyal, were ushers.

Vern Dahlby sang, "The Lord’s Prayer," and, "Oh, Promise Me," accompanied by organist, Carol Noeldner.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.  A supper was served in the church hall and a dance was held at Bruno’s ballroom, Marshfield.

The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School and the groom attended Marshfield schools.  The couple will reside in Marshfield.
