Greening, Leo August (10 April 1890 - 4 May 1958) 
 

Leo Greening, 68, Rt. 1, Willard, died during the night of May 4 at his home following a heart attack.  He was found by a neighbor, Bob Bogdonovich, who had hired him to work.  Upon his failure to report for work, Mr. Bogdonovich investigated and found his body late Tuesday.   
 

Leo August Greening, son of the late Julius and Albine (Schendel) Greening, was born April 10, 1890, in Minnesota.  He received his education and farmed there.  In 1918, he located on a farm in the Town of Foster. He and his brothers operated a threshing machine for many years, and for the last five years he had worked out as a farm hand.  He served as town supervisor and as justice of the peace of the Town of Foster. 
 

He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Donald (Frieda) Adams of Kenosha; Miss Doris Greening of Appleton, and Miss Virginia Greening of Kenosha.  Other survivors include a grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Margaret) Gerke of Fergus Falls, Minn., and Mrs. Felita Jepson of Vancouver, Wash. 
 

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home.  The Rev. Virgil Holmes officiated.  Burial was made in the Town of Seif Cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were: John Champa, Tom Krejci, August Stremikis, George Bedell, Frank Van Horn and Lyle Humboldt. 
 

Out of town people attending services were: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Adams, Miss Virginia Greening, Kenosha; Miss Doris Greening, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. August Stremikis, Mr. and Mrs. George Bedell, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Horn, Lyle Humboldt, John Champa, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pozega and Mr. and Mrs. John Bradshaw, Willard.
