Bartz, Fred L. (21 April 1889 - 6 February 1958) 
 

Fred L. Bartz, 68, of Rt. 1, Granton, died suddenly February 6, 1958 at his farm home in the Town of York as result of a coronary occlusion. 
 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton, with the Rev. Arthur Oswald officiating and burial was made in the parish cemetery. 
 

Mr. Bartz was born April 21, 1889, in Brillion, where he received his early education.  On June 16, 1915, he was married to the former Elda Helm at the Mapleworks Church, Granton. 
 

For the past 26 years Mr. Bartz served as treasurer of the Town of York. He had resided for 44 years on the same farm. 
 

He is survived by his wife, and two daughters: Mrs. Donald (Irene) Drescher of Rt. 1, Greenwood; and Mrs. Elwyn (Neva) Larsen of Janesville.  A sister, Mrs. Ray (Ruth) Nickel of the Town of Fremont, and two grandchildren, Wayne and Sandra Drescher, also survive. 
 

Pallbearers were: William Naedler, Sr., George Bredlau, Emil Henninger, Byron Glass, Floyd Pietenpol and Clarence Ganther. 
 

Funeral arrangements were made by the Gilbertson Funeral Home.
