Ptacek, Violet (15 OCT 1955)

Miss Violet Ptacek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ptacek of Bruce, was united in marriage to teddy Zuber of Melrose Park, Ill., son of Mrs. Anna Zuber of Lublin, at a 2 o’clock ceremony Saturday, Oct. 15, 1955, at Riverside Mission.  The minister performing the ceremony was Rev. Newhagen of Malone.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father.  She was attired in a floor length gown of imported English lace and nylon tulle over white satin, with a long flowing train.  Her gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice, long tapering sleeves, and an illusion neckline.  Her fingertip nylon tulle and lace veil was arranged from a crown of pearls.  The bride carried American Beauty roses as her bouquet.  To complete her ensemble, she wore pearl earrings and necklace, gift of the groom.

Serving the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Miles Ptacek, aunt of the bride, wearing a blue floor length gown, matching headpiece and carrying a bouquet of roses and mixed colored pompons.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jeanie Sovetskis of Chicago, sister of the groom, wearing a taffeta and net formal of orchid; Miss Diane Bollman of Minneapolis, a friend, who wore a taffeta fuchsia gown with matching headpiece.  Mrs. Lorraine Ogurek of Chicago, sister of the groom, wore a taffeta and net formal of powder blue with matching headpiece; Miss Carol Ptacek, sister of the bride, wore a pink taffeta and net formal with matching headpiece, and Miss Betty Lou Ptacek, sister of the bride, wore a lavender taffeta and net formal with matching headpiece.

The five bridesmaids carried bouquets of roses and mixed color pompons to match their formals.  To complete the maid of honor’s and bridesmaids’ ensembles, they wore rhinestone earrings and necklaces.

Best man was Miles Ptacek, uncle of the bride.

Flower girl was Linda Ptacek, sister of the bride, wearing a nylon and net with lace frock, covered with sequins and a matching headpiece.  She carried a bouquet of roses and yellow and pink pompons with yellow ribbons.

Terry Lynn Ptacek, brother of the bride, served as ring bearer, carrying a pillow of white taffeta and lace.

The church was decorated in pink and blue with flowers on both sides of the altar.

Miss Emily Wilder played the wedding march, and James Bollman sang.  Usherettes were Mrs. Shirlee Darrah, of Minneapolis and Miss Louise Wilder.

The groom is employed as machinist at International Harvester Co.  The couple will be at home at Melrose Park, Ill.
