Kippenhan, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore (40th Anniversary - 23 June 1955) 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kippenhan celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary at their home in Greenwood on Sunday with 60 relatives in attendance at the dinner and open house in the afternoon and evening. 
 

Mr. Kippenhan and the former Miss Martha Awe were married on June 23, 1915, by the Rev. Otto Saewert.  They went to housekeeping on a farm northwest of Greenwood.  Six children were born to them, Alvin, Herbert, and Paul, and three daughters, Mrs. Emery (Norma) Seiger, Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Meinhardt, and Mrs. Price (Rosa) Davis.  All were present for the festivities with the exception of Herbert and his family. 
 

Those attending from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. John Loos of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Franz of Mesa, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kippenhan, Lawrence and Iris, Miss Hilda Kippenhan, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wickesberg and Jean, Appleton; The Rev. and Mrs. Jack Grether, Miss Cilla Kippenhan and Mr. and Mrs. Don Acheson and family, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Emery Seiger and family, Elk Mound; Mr. and Mrs. Price Davis and family, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Himes, Mrs. Emma Burmeister and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Doege, Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Laube, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voightlander, Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. William Awe, Miss Lydia Awe, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Awe, Henry Awe, Arnold Awe, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wendt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wendt and Karen Kay, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meinhardt and family, Owen; Miss Louise Kippenhan of Black River Falls.  Many gifts, including a purse, were presented to the honorees. 
 

Bouquets of peonies and delphinium decorated the dinner table with a three tiered cake decorated with pink and white roses as the centerpiece.
