County Men Join the Army (1955) 
 

Five County Men Join the Army as Volunteers: -- The following Clark County men, all volunteers, left by chartered bus at 7:45 a.m. on March 2, for Minneapolis and were inducted into the army. 
 

Bernard T. Decker, Greenwood; Harvey W. Goeke, Greenwood; Donald J. Schmidt, Spencer; William A. Pawlak, Thorp; Donald E. VanLoo, Thorp.
