Baade, Fred A. (13 Oct. 1914 - 8 Nov. 1958)

The body of Fred A. Baade, 44, of Marshfield, who drowned in big Spirit Lake, Oct. 13, was found Saturday afternoon about 4:00 o’clock, floating on the east side of the lake. Most of the dragging operations were conducted here after the boat which Mr. Baade had rented was found empty, on the lake.

A physician listed the cause of death as asphyxiation by drowning.

Mr. Baade was born Oct. 13, 1914 at Pittsville. He lived, for a time, near Abbotsford, with his half brother, Chris Kind. In 1937 and 1938 he was employed on the Arvid Carlson farm and for a time lived with the Herman Podevels family near Cherokee.

At the time of his death he was employed at the Roddis Corporation, at Marshfield.

He leaves his widow and one son, Lee, of Marshfield, one brother, Clarence Baade, Montrose, Calif., and a half brother, Chris Kind, Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Carlson attended the funeral services held Tuesday afternoon at Christ Lutheran church, Marshfield.
