Mertens, Henry A. (18 Jun 1881 - 6 July 1958)

Henry A. Mertens, 77, died at his home at Dorchester Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held this morning at St. Louis’ Catholic church and burial was made in Memorial cemetery. 
 

He lived at Dorchester the past 40 years and was a cattle dealer the past 48 years. 
 

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Clara Sailor, Owen; Mrs. Julius (Marie) Bartelt, Milwaukee; Mrs. Louis (Linda) Scholz, Milwaukee; Mrs. Arnold (Madge) Rhyner, Dorchester; five sons, Alfred Mertens, Jefferson; Albert Mertens and Carl Mertens, both of Dorchester, George Mertens, Waukesha; Laurence Mertens, at home; 50 grand children, 47 great grand children; five half brothers, Anton Boxrucker, Owen; Joseph Boxrucker, Colby; John Boxrucker, Dorchester; Jakob Boxrucker, Stetsonville; Casper Boxrucker, Athens; and one half sister, Mrs. Martha Simerson, Milwaukee. 
 

One son, John, and one sister, preceded him in death.
