Plans for
the Future Made By 1958 Graduating Class
Members of
the graduating class of the Abbotsford high school are making
decisions on their future course now that high school days are
over. For some, it will be a continuation of
school.
In this
group are Richard Barkow, who will attend Taylor County
Teachers’ College at Medford; Lyle Carlson, Larry Jarocki,
Lyle Blair, and James Bragg will attend University Extension at
Wausau; Harvey Witt and Joel Skoog, the Vocational school at
Wausau; Janet Peissig, Eau Claire State College; Don Lapp,
Valparaiso University, Indiana; John Kovatch, Meldon Giese, and
Wayne Schade, Central State College, Stevens Point; Barbara
Pittsley and Dan Klinkhammer, who has received an athletic as well
as a scholastic scholarship, the University of Wisconsin, Madison;
Jay Viets, who is convalescing from rheumatic fever, has plans to
attend college.
Entering
training at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Marshfield, will
be Lynn Nehrlich and Betty Atzen; Dorothy Gierl plans to enter that
field also.
Employers
Mutuals at Wausau will have Carol Amacher and Joyce Huhn on their
staff. Shirley Daenicke plans to do office work; Donna Ortman will
be employed as a nurse’s aid at St. Mary’s hospital,
Wausau; Lenore Lueth also may work as nurse’s aid; Sandra
Lindberg plans to work in Marshfield.
Gilbert
Baehler will join the Air Force; Earl Wilhelmi will work at
Marathon-Clark Cooperative Dairy Association this summer and enlist
in the Navy in the fall. Clifton Schuelke will leave for Omaha,
Neb., to be employed.
Work on the
home farm awaits Kenneth Kalepp, George Empey, Richard Grammer.
William Weldon will work on a farm out of Dorchester. Robert Krause
will do construction work.
Caroline
Bezak will work in her parents’ shoe store.
Plans are indefinite, at present, for Beth Carlson, Ronald Carter, Dale Chapman, Dick Eimer, Patricia Erickson, Bob Hartzell, Kenneth Leonhard, Janet Laper, Theresa Pietrowski, Beth Piwoni, David Rueden, Joyce Schraufnagel, and Sharon Weller.
