Max Vircks, 71, Dorchester, died unexpectedly in his sleep Wednesday morning, Jan. 29. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. 
 

Mr. Vircks was a long time resident of Dorchester and former village president. He operated a barber shop for many years until he turned it over to his son, Clarence. In later years, he worked as inspector of bees in southern states and Wisconsin. 
 

Survivors include his widow and three sons by his first marriage, Clarence, Abbotsford; Marvin, West Allis; and Lester, Thorp.
